Minor in Ear Training for the Bachelor of Music

Requirements in the entrance exam

a) Written examination/exam (duration: approx. 45 minutes): Monophonic and polyphonic dictations.
b) Colloquium on motivation and prior knowledge for enrolment in the minor subject (minor). Duration: 15 minutes.

Master of Music

Regulations, degree plans and module catalogues

Main study specialisations: main subject teaching, scientific foundations of listening, music theory, methodology/didactics, electives, Master's project.

Requirements in the entrance exam

a) Written examination (duration: approx. 90 minutes):
- A two-part atonal dictation (for example from Béla Bartók, Mikrokosmos).
- A four-part homophonic dictation (for example a chorale movement by Johann Sebastian Bach).

b) Oral examination (duration: approx. 45 minutes):
- Singing from sight of an atonal melody (for example from Anton Webern, Drei Gesänge op. 23).
- Declaiming a complex rhythm (for example from Igor Stravinsky, Canticum sacrum).
- Recording and describing the course of a polyphonic, predominantly homophonic section from a work from the 16th to 19th centuries.
