Registration / Leave of Absence

Registration Procedure

  • Direct debit payment of fees totaling 605 € online at www.mh-freiburg.de. This may be done either on the self-service terminal in the foyer of the State School of Music (please follow the instructions on the provided information leaflet) or from any PC.
  • Applications for any changes in field of study, degree program, or instructor. BM students must select an elective module when registering for their 6th study semester! The applications may only be submitted during registration.
  • Applications for a leave of absence for the coming semester must be submitted during the registration period. The application must include the reason for the leave of absence and corresponding evidence! It is in your own interest to submit the application as early as possible!
  • Upon completion of the registration procedure you must have your course transcript booklet stamped for the current semester at the Registration Office.

Leaves of Absence on Short Notice

If you need to take a leave of absence during the teaching period, you must submit an application including the reason for the leave as soon as possible.

Change of Address, Telephone Number, or Name

Please enter any changes into the self-service terminal in the foyer of the State School of Music immediately.

Exmatriculation (in the case of a change of institution or termination of studies)

Exmatrikulation takes place during the registration period. In order to exmatriculate, you must fill out an application for exmatriculation at the Registration Office (forms available there). Please bring your course transcript booklet and a statement from the library confirming that you no longer have any media checked out and have paid any outstanding library fees.
