Application Deadlines

Registration fee: 50 €

(Please note: The Master's programme in Music Music Pedagogy and Elementary Music Pedagogy can only be started in the winter semester)

Master Degree holders will have to pay  tuition of 500,- EUR per semester for any second or further Master's Degree studies.

Formal Requirements for the Entrance Examination

  • Completed registration form (PRINTOUT) including supplementary documentation
  • Passport photo (please stick on the registration form)
  • Complete curriculum vitae (in tabular form) with the essential information about the previous education and, if applicable, artistic activity
  • two envelopes addressed to yourself size A4 and C6 plus corresponding International Coupons
  • Proof of payment of the registration fee of € 50 (not for FAB applications) to the following bank account:

  • High School diploma (if not in German: certified German translation)
  • For students without university entrance qualification: declaration by applicant confirming willingness to take extra an qualifying examination in addition to the regular entrance examination
  • University/college certificates/diplomas (if not in German: certified German translation)
  • For FAB applicants: current school certificate stating anticipated high school graduation
  • For Bachelor of Music as well as Master of Music applicants who are not German native speakers: certificate language test level B1
  • For minors: statement of consent by legal guardians

Artistic Requirements for the Entrance Examination

Major field examinatio

  • For Voice and instruments generally three or four works in various styles and, in some cases, one etude (15-20 minutes)
     e.g. major field Piano: four works and one etude
  • For Choral Conducting, Elementary-Level Music Education, Film Music, Ear Training, Historical Performance Practice, Composition, Art Song, Music and Movement / Rhythmic Training, Music Theory, and Orchestral Conducting, please refer to the info sheets or the appendix to the Matriculation Regulations.

The examination commission selects the pieces to be performed from the applicant’s list of examination pieces. The commission may interrupt the performance of a piece at any time due to time constraints.

Anmeldegebühr: 50 €

(Bitte beachten Sie: Das Studium im Master Musik Musikpädagogik und Elementare Musikpädagogik kann nur zum Wintersemester begonnen werden.)


Einschreibe- bzw. Rückmeldegebühren sowie Sozialbeitrag für das Studierendenwerk (derzeit 150 €, Stand: Juli 2014). Studiengebühren fallen im konsekutiven Masterstudiengang nicht an. Im nicht-konsekutiven Masterstudiengang betragen die Studiengebühren für jedes begonnene Semester 500,-- Euro. Siehe dazu Satzung über die Erhebung von Studiengebühren.

Formale Anforderungen für die Eignungsprüfung

Für die Anmeldung zur Eignungsprüfung benötigen wir folgende Unterlagen:

Die Anmeldefrist generell für jedes Wintersemester der 1. April, für jedes Sommersemester der 1. Dezember. Es zählt der Eingangsstempel.

Inhaltliche Anforderungen für die Eignungsprüfung


Die Prüfungskommission wählt aus der Liste der Prüfungswerke die Werke aus, die der Bewerber vortragen soll. Aus Zeitgründen kann die Kommission den Vortrag eines Werkes unterbrechen.
