International Office

Exchange Programs for Students, Teachers and Staff

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ and Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM exchange programs, the International Office takes care of students of Freiburg University of Music who are planning a stay abroad (outgoings), as well as foreign students from partner institutions who are studying at Freiburg University of Music (incomings).

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, stays abroad of teaching and non-teaching staff at the partner institutions of the University are also possible.

ERASMUS + of the European Union

The program supports study stays within Europe. A stay in another European country is possible from the 3rd semester onwards in the Bachelor's program, and from the 1st semester onwards in the Master's program. The stay abroad is financially supported with 490 € to 600 € per month (depending on the country of the exchange) and further top-up options depending on the personal situation. No tuition fees are charged at the partner university.

Baden-Württemberg Scholarship of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation

Students who study one or two semesters at one of the direct partner universities of Freiburg University of Music can be supported by the Baden-Württemberg Scholarship of the Baden-Württemberg Foundation.

The amount of support through the Baden-Württemberg scholarship is approximately 300 € to 500 € per month. In principle, all students of the university are eligible for support; the prerequisite is acceptance for studies by the partner university.

Leave of absence and credit

ERASMUS students and students who study at an ERASMUS partner university through the Baden-Württemberg scholarship are granted leave of absence for the duration of their studies abroad according to the Landeshochschulgesetz §61 (1) and therefore apply for leave of absence with the re-registration for the planned exchange semester. The semester spent abroad will be credited in full to the standard period of study (exceptions are possible in the School Music program).
