Piano Improvisation
Bachelor of Music (Minor Improvisation/Applied Piano)
Key areas of study in the minor: Improvisation / applied piano playing (major/seminars), ensemble, contemporary music.
Requirements in the entrance exam
a) Performance of a briefly prepared improvisation based on a design template chosen from several suggestions (e.g. a picture, text, a chord sequence or a musical motif). Preparation time: 10 minutes.
b) Colloquium on motivation, previous knowledge and main areas of interest.

Requirements in the entrance exam
a) Performance of a prepared improvisation on a self-chosen topic (approx. 5 minutes).
b) Improvisation on given material (approx. 5 minutes). The material will be made available to the candidates 20 minutes before the performance and they will choose a task from it: Series of notes or opening motifs to an improvisation in historical styles (18th/19th century), jazz improvisation, free improvisational composition in a 20th/21st century style.
c) Ad-hoc arrangement of a song accompaniment based on a given melody or lead sheet, optionally from the areas of traditional song, jazz standard, pop song.
d) Performance of a classical piano piece (approx. 5 minutes).
