Information on the Research Project

The Freiburg University of Music has been part of the ERASMUS+ project "Teacher Education Academy for Music" (TEAM) since June 2023. Over three years, the Teacher Education Academy for Music is working on the topics of future-making, mobility and networking in Europe and is a Europe-wide research network. It aims to redesign the initial and further training of music teachers and music education in schools in Europe in line with the current needs for the professionalisation of music teachers. 
At the Freiburg University of Music, Work Package 3 Music Education and Future-Making deals with the topics of democracy education, digitalisation and sustainability. In addition, Work Package 5 School Internships Abroad and Mentoring deals with school internships abroad and the issue of mentoring. 
TEAM plans to use design-based research to develop evidence-based, forward-looking OER (Open Educational Resources) for music education and to strengthen mobility for music teachers, with a particular focus on high-quality school internships abroad with intercultural mentoring.

Ready for Future-Making?

As part of Work Package 3, seven learning offers on the three future-oriented topics of democracy education, sustainability, and digitalization have been published on the openmusic.academy platform (OMA) – available for free use.
