»Music About Music«. Konzert zur Tagung Artistic Research in Music
What does it mean for music to speak about itself? In this programme, music becomes both message and messenger - reflecting on its own language, its histories, and its practices. We will examine how composers of different centuries became »artistic researchers« within their own aesthetic universe: through the act of transcription, quotation, rewriting, hommage, transformation, and introspection. By turning music itself into a subject of musical expression, the pieces on this evening’s programme invite us to experience music thinking aloud.

As part of the two-day conference »Artistic Research in Music« (27-28 June 2025), doctoral students of the Collège Glarean will give a concert. The Collège Glarean (European Doctoral College for Musical Interpretation and Artistic Research) is a joint institution of the Freiburg University of Music, the Université de Strasbourg and the Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin and is supported by the Franco-German University of Saarbrücken. The conference »Artistic Research in Music« takes place in the context of the Franco-German Chair of Music Theory / Écriture (Prof. Robert Bauer) and is also supported by the Franco-German University of Saarbrücken.

Im Rahmen der zweitägigen Tagung »Artistic Research in Music« (27.-28. Juni 2025) geben Doktorandinnen und Doktoranden des Collège Glarean ein Konzert. Das Collège Glarean (Europäisches Doktorandenkolleg für musikalische Interpretation und künstlerische Forschung) ist eine gemeinsame Einrichtung der Hochschule für Musik Freiburg, Université de Strasbourg und Haute Ecole des Arts du Rhin und wird unterstützt von der Deutsch-Französischen Hochschule Saarbrücken.
